slipping again
It's fall and I call you
I'm usually the one who calls
and this time something snaps
gloves worn through
slipping again
Spring and we're here
the colors return
for a sweet and brief moment
blistered palms torn
slipping again
The summer sun blinds
spots in my eyes
not seeing the strand unravel
screaming pain, bloody rope
slipping again
The walls close in on you
I know i'm to blame and it's
hard to see you so far from me
down to the bone
release
Fall again, and the smoke fills the room
choking you out
everything a mistake
everything wrong
plummeting through
reaching out
When winter comes
the chill seeps in
and there's no telling
when it will thaw
the rope burns
I want the heat again
