There are long lost documents
classified, of course
detailing the development of a new type of Brave
whose merits will be countless
and those who can hold it will be themselves held as heroes
saviors
lacking the real empathy
but with the synthetic in abundance
and they are New-Brave nonetheless
And monuments erected
flags raised to be burned at a later date
by the ones who decided brave just isn't brave enough
An ad on the television
"From the makers of New-Sadness and New-Apathy
Comes New Brave!"
The screens tell us to evolve
and there are so very many of them
and I'm scared,
I'm a new type of scared.
