secured
in a bunker
deep below the earth
its wails can be heard
its enclosure is elaborate
to occupy its time
with contingencies and compromises
idle planning and impotent thrashing
they call it The Living Weapon
a blight upon the earth
not built in a lab, but bestowed from birth
a parasite inside of those cursed with its affliction
undetectable by all known medical physicians
But this one's outgrown its host
we lost him weeks ago
it roars and screams
this unspeakable thing
for just last week something changed
and today, we know it knows
Suddenly consumed by a violent need to escape
to drain the living hearts of us
and leave husks in its wake
Its eyes are dark and desperate
if you can even find them
a misshapen thing of hair and horns
snarling through bared teeth
(it has,
well,
several mouths)
But I digress:
Way down here in B34
a floor whose name is whispered
The Living Weapon is breaking free
of its glorified cage
'If I've told you once
I've told you a thousand times:
We need Locking Mechanisms
on the Vehicle Doors'
A bit of levity as it tears out their hopes
as it consumes their passions
their lusts and self-satisfactions
but it's never enough for
The Living Weapon climbs the elevator shaft
and the whole place goes haywire
locking down
self destructing
it mustn't escape
but it always does
