He bolted down a wooden path
ran away from secureity
ramshackled in handcuffs whose links have snapped apart
Freedom upon thee, first at last!
tongues of yellow kiss the frayed rope ladder that runs up the canyon wall
A fugitive prays for rain
(his parched plans and burning escape route require it)
in this valley of slaughtered trees, an answer rings out
the torrent of water rots the wooden lattice
and peels the guise off of our so-called hero

And in this rain,
all light is refracted
through a million million prisms
that make a billion billion rainbows
taking a walk is a dampened acid trip
windows double as optical illusions
and as the blood of the past is washed down the sewers
this Technicolor storm discos on
pouring down driveways, into garages, flooding houses
soaking cars and couches
can you swim in a watercolored waterfall?
these seas of test screens
of the bluest reds and orangish greens
are painting this town black
it seems.
=
this heart monitor skyline
dies off to the east.
perhaps if I turn around again
I can resuscitate
what was once a picturesque postcard
=
Scythe diced fruits of labor
cooked crushed and boiled for flavor
melted into homogeneous broth
funneled in the mouth of the hungry sloth
Drink your fill and leave the bill
we'll widen doors and make adjustments
as quickly as you can outgrow them
no effort to do your part
no chance of balancing the scale that you've already broken
lawsuits, lawyers, settlements and gluttony
They make you sick, you make you sick
you make me sick
I think it's disgusting.

GREAHLLLLLLLL
